Who exactly is DBM Studio '87?

That's a great question (she rhetorically asks herself while sitting on her laptop questioning why she is even writing this...)

My name is Michelle and I live somewhere in between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, New York. Stuck here Raised here all my life I am very used to the cold and snowy winters, prompting a lifelong interest in all things crafty.

I cannot say I excel in any crafting areas but I do enjoy dabbling in all of them. For this reason you see multiple mediums I use to create, as well as very few duplicates. I love making unique pieces.

Where did DBM Studio '87 come from? And what does it mean?

I learned jewelry making specifically in my early 20s from my sister in law and some of her friends. Shortly after I designed and sold $5 earrings (fun fact: $5 Fridays is a shoutout to those days) to my coworkers at the Olive Garden (who doesn't love their breadsticks) and attempted my own website, all using the name DBM Studio '87. (My friend at the time, now husband was supposed to make me said website... only took him 14 years... but took me 6 to say "yes".)

Shortly after starting this website my friend texted me a list of what seemed like gibberish, but was, in fact, her attempt to guess what DBM stands for. Designed By Michelle... yeah, that's it. Not very original but it has stuck. "Studio" sounded fun, '87 was a great year, and I like the apostrophe.
